Riverside is the most populous city in the Inland Empire and is an hour east from Los Angeles. It was named for its location along the Santa Ana River and this community is rich in history with the citrus industry which is a big part of California’s development. 
 
There are twenty eight neighborhoods in Riverside. The east region of the city’s downtown area is known as Eastside and was once home to many Mexican immigrants who came to work the orange groves. Hawarden Hills is considered to be one of the older neighborhoods in Riverside, California and is highly desired for its spectacular views and majestic estates. You will find a variety of architectural styles in Hawarden Hills like Spanish, Mediterranean, traditional, and contemporary on large lots that are full of tropical palm trees, fruit groves, and greenery. Many homeowners here live on at least a couple acres of land with long driveways and plenty of privacy.
 
Orangecrest is considered one of the finest communities in the City of Riverside. Besides being in the middle of beautifully lush landscaping, homes are close to two major shopping malls. This community is well maintained and boasts of impressive curb appeal and beautiful landscaping. Other neighborhoods include Alessandro Heights, Arlington Heights, Canyon Crest, La Sierra South, Magnolia Center, Sycamore Canyon Springs, University, and Hillside Hunter Industrial Park.
 
Riverside is served by the Riverside Unified School District with seven high schools, and Alvord Unified School District with three high schools. Parents also have many private schools in Riverside to choose from including Sonshine Christian School, Azure Hills Adventists Elementary, and Mojave River Academy. Higher education is available through Riverside City College, La Sierra University, and the University of California, Riverside.This city is also the home to the Riverside Fox Theater where Gone with the Wind was first shown in 1939.
